The 39 Clues

The Cahills are the most powerful family the world has ever known. Grace Cahill, the matriarch of the family, left a challenge in her will for her surviving relatives. They can either take one million dollars or the first in a series of Clues that will reveal the source of the family’s power. It’s Cahill vs. Cahill in a race to beat the competition and be the first to assemble all 39 Clues.

Read The 39 Clues books to follow fourteen-year-old Amy Cahill and her eleven-year-old brother Dan as they travel the world to hunt for the Clues. Each of the ten books comes with 6 game cards and reveals important information about the Cahills, including the location of one Clue.

  • Minutes before she died Grace Cahill changed her will, leaving her descendants an impossible decision: “You have a choice – one million dollars or a clue.”

Grace is the last matriarch of the Cahills, the world’s most powerful family. Everyone from Napoleon to Houdini is related to the Cahills, yet the source of the family power is lost. 39 clues hidden around the world will reveal the family’s secret, but no one has been able to assemble them. Now the clues race is on, and young Amy and Dan must decide what’s important: hunting clues or uncovering what REALLY happened to their parents.

The 39 Clues is Scholastic’s groundbreaking new series, spanning10 adrenaline-charged books, 350 trading cards, and an online game.

The 39 Clues books set the story, and the cards, website and game allow kids to participate in it. Kids visit the website – – and discover they are lost members of the Cahill family. They set up online accounts where they can compete against other kids and against Cahill characters to find all 39 clues. Through the website, kids can track their points and clues, manage their card collections, dig through the Cahill archives for secrets, and “travel” the world to collect Cahill artifacts, interview characters, and hunt down clues. Collecting cards helps: Each card is a piece of evidence containing information on a Cahill, a clue, or a family secret.

Are these books good? And do you think it would be okay to read them on my Kobo?

  9. Oliver says:

I was looking in the 3rd and 1st book and in the 1st book hidden in the page numbers it says: Anne Cahill did not drown. The 3rd it said: The competition is about hope.

  10. Oliver says:

I was just looking at the 39 Clues book 5 and noticed that in Russian on pages 39 – 56 instead of a page number it had Russian symbols, I then put them into Google Translator and it translated as ‘Olivia had another’. I am assuming that the Olivia it is referring to is Olivia Cahill – Gideon Cahill’s Wife. It therefore must be saying that Olivia did not have 5 Children but 6, that would then mean that there would be 6 branches: Ekaterina, Janus, Lucian, Tomas, Madrigals and one more

    • Angelina says:

Isn’t ‘Olivia had another’ the Madrigals itself? Because they (Amy and Dan) didn’t know at that point that Madeleine was the fifth child, right?

  11. mooneye says:
