Self Published Paperback First Editions of The Dark Hills Divide
Do you think you might have one of the true, self published first editions of The Dark Hills
Divide? Only 3000 first printings were done, followed by a second printing of 5000 and a third
printing of 3000. By comparison, there were 10,000 self published first editions of Eragon
printed.
You can verify a Dark Hills Divide first edition in three ways:
The spine art is too small, leaving a gap where the cover and back cover art are exposed on the
spine. Second and third editions do not have this abnormality.
The third page says “First Printing August 2003.”
The last page provides a release date for Beyond the Valley of Thorns. Second and third printings of
the book do not include a date for publication for the second book in the series.
The first editions were printed by Color Press in Walla Walla, Washington. If you need verification
