I would HIGHLY recommend Atherton and The 39 Clues. Both are FANTASTIC series. 39 Clues has several different authors but all the books are great. I read a lot of books, and usually after a few years they get filed away in my head and eventually just get thrown out. However, a few stand out and this series is one of them. I love patrick carman's books. I've read all of the Land of Elyon and all of the Athertons and I hope there is more to come. These books are amazing.
