Synopsis
12-year-old Alexa, has spent her life living behind the four-story walls that surround her village and the three others that make up Bridewell Common. But Alexa’s curiosity for what lies in the hills and forests on the other side sends her on a daring adventure into a secret world in which nothing is as it seems to be.

The Dark Hills Divide
Inquisitive twelve-year-old Alexa Daley is spending another summer in the walled town of Bridewell. This year, she is set on solving the mystery of what lies beyond the walls. Legend says the walls were built to keep out an unnamed evil that lurks in the forests and The Dark Hills. But what exactly is it that the townspeople are so afraid of?
As Alexa begins to unravel the truth, pushing beyond the protective barrier she’s lived behind all her life, she discovers a strange and ancient enchantment. Armed with an unexpected new power, Alexa exposes a danger that could destroy everything she holds dear – and change The Land of Elyon forever.

Beyond the Valley of Thorns
Alexa thought her troubles were over when she defeated the man who threatened to bring down Bridwell from within. But now that the walls around her have fallen, a new, unexpected threat has risen from outside. Suddenly, Alexa is involved in a battle much, much larger than her own life-a battle in which she is destined to play a key role.
In order to help good defeat evil, Alexa and her friends must venture father that they’ve ever gone before-confronting giants, bats, ravenous dogs, and a particularly ghoulish mastermind in order to bring peace to The Land of Elyon.

Also are you going to make like a movie or something i think if you did it would be like the worlds best movie also i think you should write more elyon book they are great i would die if they were gone
to nikki: ive read most if not all of his other books/series. I would HIGHLY recommend Atherton and The 39 Clues. Both are FANTASTIC series. 39 Clues has several different authors but all the books are great. Also, I would recommend the following series:
Fablehaven: 5 books – Fairies, trolls, etc.
PERCY JACKSON!!!!!! – Greek Gods btw: if you have read this series, there is a follow up series called Heroes of Olypmus
Gallagher Girls: girl spies w. drama

These books are amazing. I read a lot of books, and usually after a few years they get filed away in my head and eventually just get thrown out. However, a few stand out and this series is one of them. I love patrick carman’s books. I’ve read all of the Land of Elyon and all of the Athertons and I hope there is more to come.

I have read all these books muliple times and I still can’t get enough of them!!! My two favorites of them are Into the Mist and Stargazer. I haven’t read any of your other books yet but I want to and I was wondering which of your other books is most like this series???
i love the series, its amazing! i started reading them in 5th grade and immediately i made my mom buy all the books related to the series i could find (books 1-3). now in seventh grade i found into the mist and stargazer and read them both in one day! i do wish there were book 5 (6,7,8,9….)

I read the series in the order it came out, so I read the prequel after the third one and before Stargazer.

I love the land of elyon books so much. I started reading them in elementary school, now in highschool I continue to read them over and over. I have read each book over 20 times. The dark hills divide I have read 37 times. But my favorite is the nightgazer.
