My 4th grade class and I have been reading Skeleton Creek. My students are in LOVE with your series. Many of my students who are not interested in reading have been asking me to read. I noticed that you do Skype chats. I was wondering if you had time to Skype with my students? We are in Lutz, Florida. Alyssa Keyser
I’ve started Skeleton Creek with my grade 5 class (24 kids). I’ve read the book to a similar class to students last year and happy to report similar results: the students are simply eating this up. Hats off to you.
In the event you are back to Skyping classes, we’d love to connect with you.
We would love to have you teleconference with some classes at our school! We have 4 Grade 7-8 classes who read your Skeleton Creek books and the the first book of the 3:15 series this year.
Thanks!
Corinna
I am a middle school English teacher in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. My students are big fans of yours. To promote 21st-century learning skills, I would like to set up a Skyping session with you. I found your name on a list of authors who Skype in Library Journal. Also, Mary Brown at the Book, Bytes, and Beyond bookstore recommended you. Mrs. Brown said you are an “excellent speaker.”
Would you be willing to participate in a Skyping session with my seventh graders before the end of our school year? Our last day of school is June 20. Our school is not in session this week, so I am sending you this e-mail from my home e-mail address.
My grade 6 class and I have been reading Skeleton Creek. I noticed that you do Skype chats. I was wondering if you had time to Skype with my kids? We are in Fergus, Ontario.
Hi! My name is Sara Havens. I am the Media Specialist at Eastside elementary in Greenbrier, Arkansas. I have kg-5th grade students. I have viewed your virtual tours video and am also looking into beginning to Skype. I have purchased my webcam and have a Skype account. I have told my students (4th and 5th) about possibly getting to visit with you, and needless to say they are so excited. I would love to schedule something for this school year if at all possible. Also, please let me know what fees would be included as I’m working with a pretty small budget of course! ( Many of my 4th and 5th graders have read and are reading your Skeleton Creek books at the present and can’t wait to meet you. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you for contacting me about Skype visits. Unfortunately I’ve stopped doing them for right now – too busy writing! Keep an eye on the site, I hope to start doing them again at some point. PC
Last year you Skyped with my 7th grade students and we loved it! You introduced us to and got us excited about the 3:15 stories as well as you full length novels. I have a whole new group of students and they are also loving your work. When I introduced the 3:15 stories and stated the book versions would be available the following morning first come first serve, there was a lot of excitement. HOWEVER, when I saw some young men walking quickly (because they weren’t allowed to run) down the hallway right as the 7:30 bell rang I knew I needed to see if you would be willing Skype again with us. Will you??????????
I read Skeleton Creek and Ghost in the Machine to my 5th grade students last year. They loved it!!! I would use the book to bribe them to get their work done! We just started Skeleton Creek today with my new group. They can’t wait to read!! I would love to be able to tell my students that we could skype with you! I have two different groups from 8:30-12:30 (central time zone). Thank you for getting kids excited about reading! I look forward to hear from you.
Hi Patrick, my name is Tanya Higgins-Brazil. I’m a Special Education teacher in Pasco at Stevens Middle School close by you. I would love it if you could come in and talk with our class. We have been reading Skeleton Creek in class as a read-aloud and the kids love it! Last year you didn’t get a chance to come, but I woud really like to see you this year! You are so close we could either have a Skype interview or you could stop by. Class is from 12:30-2:30 so anytime or day, just let me know.
Hey there, Patrick!
Last year 60+ students here at Braden River Middle School in Bradenton, FL enjoyed an awesome Skype session with you. This year, I am thrilled to be teaching a true tech-driven class and we have just finished the first installment of Dark Eden. They LOVE it. Several students have already pre-purchased all episodes of the app! I wanted to see if you did have any idea if Skype sessions may be possible in the coming school year…also, because my class is a 60-day “wheel” course, I will lose these kids by Nov 15 (and gain more)–will Scholastic be shipping out copies in advance of the release date? I know last year we got the new Skeleton Creek book in our Book Fair before it’s official release date, so I was hoping there might be a chance….the kids can’t wait to get it in their hands!
Whatever your answers may be, I applaud your efforts to truly be in touch with the tech-y kids of today. It is such a pleasure to see kids both who love to read, and kids who HATE to read, devour your fiction!

This is Paul Larson fro Alicia Cortez Elementary in Chino, California. I hope you had a delightful summer. We’ve just returned to school, and have begun reading Skeleton Creek aloud with my new class. They love it! We would love to have a virtual tour with you. If you are available in mid-October, maybe in the afternoon between 1:30 and 3:00, that would be fantastic. If that time is not available, maybe a morning session would do. Last year’s group was inspired by your visit, and two of my students in this year’s class are already researching the passwords as they come up, and want to make a PowerPoint presentation on each topic.
Hi Paul – great to hear students are excited! I’m touring like crazy for the next few months and have had to suspend skype events : ( I need 70 hour days! Please share http://www.315stories.com and http://www.enterdarkeden.com with your students – if they like Skeleton Creek, they’ll love the new stuff! Very interactive. Great hearing from you! PC
